The Crash

Many missionaries arrive in the field with the idea that they need to baptize people to be successful. They work hard to make goals and get the highest numbers they can. As they experience rejection or difficult areas, they begin to wonder why they aren’t seeing success despite their earnest efforts at teaching and obedience.

After a few weeks of this, they experience a crash. This is when they decide if they are going to keep up their work or just kind of drift into emotionless apathy for the rest of their mission.

Those who keep up the work focus on the small miracles around them, loving the people, and find joy in even tiny steps that people make toward Christ. This transforms them into great missionaries in a way that can last the rest of their life.
